최근 들어 Exchange Server 2007 설치 메뉴얼을 요청 하는 곳이 많습니다.

아무래도 찾기가 힘든 듯 해서 다시 정리 해 보았습니다.

초보자라면 설치의 대한 자세한 사항을 한번 보시는게 좋을 듯 합니다.
Windows Server 2003 과 Exchange Server 2007 RTM 메뉴얼을 먼저 보신 후 Windows Server 2008 을 보시기 바랍니다.
Windows Server 2008에는 UI 가 많이 변경되고, IIS 부분이 많이 세분화 되어 있어 약간 어렵습니다.

금일은 Windows Virtual PC 를 어떻게 하면 잘 활용 할 수 있을까에 대하여 얘기 해 보려고 합니다.
혹시 Windows 7 RC를 사용하면서 Virtual PC를 모르시는 분이라면, 지난 글을 보고 바로 사용 해 보세요.

Virtual PC 를 이용하여 "가상 OS(Windows XP Mode)" 를 실행하면, 가상 XP화면이 나타납니다.

그 다음은 XP에서 실행 할 프로그램들을 설치합니다. 예를 들면 Office 2003 같은 경우가 있겠죠?

필요한 프로그램을 설치 한 후에는, 아래 그림과 같이 제품 업데이트를 꼭 해주는 것을 권장합니다. 추가적으로 XP운영체제를 최적화 설정한 뒤 사용하는 것도 좋을 듯 합니다.

여기까지는 기본적으로 예전 Virtual PC와 별 차이가 없습니다. 이제 Windows 7 호스트 운영체제와 연동을 하기 위하여 응용프로그램을 설정해야 합니다.
Windows 7 호스트에서 사용할 XP 응용 프로그램을 "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\시작 메뉴" 폴더에 복사합니다.

잠시 후 Windows 7 화면으로 이동한 후, Windows Virtual PC 하위에 "Windows XP Mode 응용 프로그램" 폴더가 생성되고, XP 용 프로그램이 등록 된 것을 볼 수 있습니다.

 가상 XP 및 XP용 프로그램을 시작하면 "복원모드"로 다시 실행이 되게 됩니다.( 상당히 빠르게 켜지겠죠? )

그리고, 선택 창이 나타납니다. ( 가상 컴퓨터를 보여 줄 것인지, 아니면 응용 프로그램만 보여 줄 것인지 )

프로그램을 사용 한 뒤 닫으면 "최대절전모드" 상태로 들어가게 됩니다. ( 상당히 빠르게 꺼지겠죠? )

"가상 응용 프로그램" 모드로 프로그램을 실행하면, 내 문서, 바탕화면 폴더가 Windows 7 호스트로 맵핑이 됩니다.

얼마 전 Windows Virtual PC Beta가 공식적으로 출시되었습니다.  이게 뭘까요?

혹시 예전에 있었던, Microsoft Virtual PC 라는 제품을 아시나요? 데스크톱 PC에서 사용되는 가상화 솔루션이죠^^

Windows Virtual PC는 예전 Microsoft Virtual PC 제품에 대한 업그레이드 버전이라고 할 수 있습니다.

주로 Virtual PC는 데모를 진행하거나, 제품 테스트 시 많이 사용되었습니다. 또한 Windows Vista가 출시 된 이후에는 호환성이 맞는 프로그램을 이용하기 위한, 차선책으로도 사용되었습니다.

금일 얘기하는 "Windows Virtual PC" 기술은 데스크톱 가상화 + 응용프로그램 가상화 기술이 합쳐진 것으로 볼 수 있습니다.

예전에 고객사의 IT인프라를 업그레이드( Windows XP에서 Vista로, Office 2003 에서 2007로 )하기 위하여 호환성 테스트를 진행하였습니다.

하지만 결과는 호환성 확보가 되지 않아, 업그레이드를 하지 못하였습니다. 아무리 좋은 제품이라 하더라도, 사내 업무 프로그램이 정상 동작하지 않는다면 업그레이드를 할 수 없겠죠. 또한 64bit 운영체제를 사용하는 사용자들도 있었기 때문에, 64bit 드라이버 호환성 문제도 이슈가 되었습니다.

만약 Windows 7 뿐 아닌, Office 2010 등이 출시되더라도 문제 없이 호환성을 확보 할 수 있다면… IT 인프라 업그레이드는 그리 어려운 일은 아닐 것으로 보입니다.

바로 "Windows Virtual PC" 기술이 호환성 확보에 도움이 될 것으로 보입니다.

현재 우리나라에서는 Windows XP(32bit) 운영체제에 Internet Explorer 6.0, Microsoft Office 2003은 문제없이 잘 동작하도록 IT 환경이 구성되어 있습니다.

저는 Windows 7, Office 2007, IE 8.0을 사용하면서, Windows XP, IE 6.0, Office 2003을 같이 사용하고 있습니다.

Windows 7 RC 가 출시되면서, Windows Virtual PC Beta 도 같이 출시 되었습니다.

Windows Virtual PC를 사용하기 위해서는 먼저 "Windows Virtual PC 베타" 프로그램을 다운받아 설치 합니다. 그 다음 XP 이미지(Windows XP Mode 베타)를 다운받아 설치하고, Virtual PC 프로그램을 설정하면 됩니다.

가상 컴퓨터에 설치된 응용 프로그램을 Windows 7 호스트 운영체제에 설치된 것처럼 Windows 7 환경에서 직접 실행합니다.

Windows 7호스트 운영체제와 가상 컴퓨터 간의 클립보드 공유, 드라이브 공유 및 프린터 리디렉션 등이 가능합니다. 또한 사용자들은 호스트에 연결된 USB 장치를 가상 컴퓨터에서 직접 연결 할 수 있습니다. 이러한 장치로는 프린터, 스캐너, 플래시 메모리/스틱, 외부 하드 드라이브, 디지털 카메라 등이 있습니다.

1. Windows Virtual PC는 다음과 같은 운영 체제를 지원합니다.

호스트 운영체제 : Windows 7 ( Home Basic, Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate, Enterprise )

RSAT(Remote Server Administration Tools)가 Windows 7 RC 버전용으로 출시 되었습니다.

Windows Vista에서 이미 RSAT를 사용해 보신 분들이라면, 아래 사이트에서 Download 받아 설치하셔서 사용하시면 됩니다.

32비트와 64비트로 나뉘어있고, 아직까지는 영어 버전만 제공됩니다. (다운로드 링크)

 혹시 RSAT (Remote Server Administration Tools)를 모르시는 분이 계신가요?

특정 클라이언트 PC에서 사내 서버 인프라를 관리하기 위한 관리도구입니다.

예전 Windows XP와 Windows Server 2003 시절에는 서버를 관리하기 위하여, Adminpak 이라는 것을 다운받아 설치하고, 서버를 관리하였습니다.

쉽게 말하면 서버관리도구 명칭이, Vista 부터 RSAT로 명칭이 바뀌었다고 생각하시면 됩니다.

여기서 간단히 설명드리면 RSAT는 다운로드 받아 설치하여도, 아래 그림과 같이 실제 관리도구를 보면 아무런 변화가 없습니다.

Vista 와 2008 서버 부터는 기능을 추가로 설치해야지만, 관리도구가 생성됩니다.

기능 추가방법 : 시작 è 제어판 è 프로그램 è 프로그램 및 기능 è 원격서버 관리도구 하위의 필요기능 추가

기능을 추가하고 나면, 아래 그림과 같이 설치된 관리도구가 나타나는 것을 볼 수 있습니다. ^^ 

얼마 전 Windows 7 RC 가 출시 되었습니다.

그의 맞춰 Microsoft 에서는 이벤트를 진행하고 있습니다.

[주의사항]
1. Windows 7 RC다운로드기간은 최소 2009년 6월까지는 제공될 예정입니다.
2. RC를 다운받으면서, 제품키를 발급 받을 수 있습니다. 그 제품키는 2010년 6월 1일 만료 될 예정이며, 2010년 3월 1일부터는 PC가 2시간마다 반복적으로 종료되기 시작할 것입니다. Windows에서는 2시간 주기 종료가 시작되기 2주 전에 이 사실을 경고할 것입니다. 작업이 중단되지 않도록 하려면 2010년 3월 1일 전에 만료되지 않는 Windows 버전을 설치해야 합니다.
3. 데이터를 반드시 백업해 두시고 가정이나 업무용 주요 PC에서는 Windows 7 RC를 테스트하지 마십시오.
4. RC를 설치하기 전에 릴리스 정보 및 알아 두어야 할 사항에서 해당 릴리스에 대한 중요 정보를 확인하십시오.
